About Sean Patrick Riley

I write journalism, poetry, and non-fiction to galvanize myself and others to keep preserving what's good, human, and intertwined: childhood, cycling, education, romance, nature, friendship, reading, and the pursuit of excellence. I love a good literal and metaphorical tailwind. Leo Tolstoy, Ursuka K. LeGuin, Fredric Jameson, and the Tao Te Ching are my guides. â€‹

I live where I was born: Seattle. I'm always at work on some creative endeavor, usually inspired by my wife, two children, and the students I am fortunate to teach.  â€‹My forthcoming article about cycling the Texas-Mexican border will be out in Adventure Cycling in December 2025.
